Why should I choose Regutec products?
Because we provide high quality and quick delivery, and being a manufacturer and not just a reseller, we can provide you with a wide range of products, including customized product models to meet your needs.
What makes a rubber surface ideal for playgrounds and sports surfaces?
Rubber products require little or no maintenance depending on the stress they are exposed to. The thickness and all the other important properties of our products remain constant over the years, as does their performance, unlike loose fill surfaces such as sand, gravel, bark etc. Moreover, the majority of our rubber surfaces can be fitted with beveled edge and corner tiles, making them easily accessible to prams and wheeled toys, and do not hide broken glass, needles, and other debris dangerous to children. Porous rubber systems allow for easy drainage providing an all-weather surface for children to enjoy.
How do I determine the critical fall height I require for my playground?
The critical fall height of any play surface is determined by the height of individual pieces of play equipment, as is the size of the area required. The manufacturer of your play equipment will be able to advise you of the critical fall height. In the case of an existing playground, simply measure the height of the highest platform a child could possibly stand on and the length and width of the play equipment, and contact your Regutec distributor to advise you.
How is the critical fall height determined?
Our products undergo demanding tests to ensure they conform to all the demands stipulated by the EU. These tests and measurements are carried out by the inspection and certification body TÜV CZ, and consist of a test designed to measure the shock-absorption of various surface materials in relation to the subsurface used and falling objects. Our products have been shown to absorb a greater shock impact than any other standard surface material. Find out more about Regutec playground surface tests results here.
What does HIC mean?
The HIC (Head Impact Criteria) indicates the maximum safe height for a fall for the particularly surface if a child falls on its head from a certain height. The inspection and certification body TÜV CZ performs these tests for our company. As the safety of your child is important to us, we have measured this value for all our playground products.
Does a rubber surface reduce noise?
Rubber surfacing products are ideal for reducing noise levels, especially where noise from wheeled toys over an asphalt or concrete surface has been a problem. They are ideal for footfall sound reduction when installed under carpets, parquets or other common floor surfaces. Specific data on noise level reduction are available in the technical documentation for products used for sound insulation.
Are rubber surfaces accessible to wheelchairs?
Yes, we can provide beveled edge and corner pieces for the majority of surface types, making a barrier-free area easily accessible to wheelchairs.
Can my rubber surface be cheaply and easily repaired if it becomes damaged?
Our products are extremely durable and an appropriate polyurethane adhesive can be used to bond them to concrete surfaces, making them vandal and theft-proof in unsecured open areas. Should your surface become damaged, a single tile or mat can be replaced with relative ease. As our rubber tiles and mats are made in certain dimensions, thicknesses and colors, repairs can be carried out quickly and without closing the play area.
Do I need a qualified specialist to install my surface?
Although we recommend hiring a specialist with experience in rubber surfaces, a general installation guide with basic recommendations of how to lay a surface is available on our website.
My surface is of an asymmetrical shape; can your products be cut to fit?
Yes - our rubber products can be cut to the required shape using a sharp knife or a power jigsaw.
Are tiles and mats a better option than an on-site installed surface?
Regutec rubber tiles and mats are made in various shapes and thicknesses under pressure in a heated press, providing a more sturdy construction than on-site or poured-in-place systems. Should a surface made of tiles or mats become damaged in any way, a single tile or mat can be replaced with relative ease. On the other hand, on-site installed surfaces have no gaps between the individual pieces and multicolored pictures can be created on them.
What colors do you supply?
We provide products in various color ranges starting with basic black, through red, green, blue and gray, up to the EPDM color granulates and combinations of them. A list of the shades of colors made will appear if you click on the ?Available colors? icon for the given product.
Are all the colors the same price?
We offer a wide variety of standard colors, as well as customized colors that may be slightly more expensive depending on the complexity and percentage of individual colors in the mixture. The most cost-effective colors are black and red.
What are the best colors to be used?
We recommend all the darker shades, as these colors will conceal dirt the best. Based on our customer feedback, red seems to work the best.
Do colored rubber surfaces fade over time?
Regutec provides two kinds of colored rubber surfaces. The first group is comprised of products in black, red, green, gray and blue colors that may fade due to weather and UV exposure. The next group includes products with a bright UV-resistant EPDM top layer in five basic colors and combinations of them. When EPDM rubber particles are used, only the top layer of a thickness of approximately 5 mm is colored, with the rest of the rubber being black.
I only need a few tiles for my garden, what is the minimum quantity I can order?
We will be happy to supply customers from all over the Czech Republic with the amount they require.
Can rubber products be used indoors?
Yes - we can recommend a suitable product and adhesive to suit the given purpose and conditions. You should consider obstacles such as doors that may open into the given area when installing these products. Most of our products are, however, intended for outdoor use.
How long are your delivery deadlines?
We aim to supply a standard one-truck order within 2-3 weeks, depending on the specific product. Smaller quantities are delivered on an individual basis depending on the needs of the customer.
Will rubber products crumble, disintegrate or decompose?
Our products will retain their structure and physical properties under standard weather and usage conditions, and are resistant to weak acids and bleaches ? please see the datasheet of the individual product for specific data. Greater wear may occur in exposed places, e.g. at the bottom of slides in children?s playgrounds or on the baselines of sports surfaces.
Are rubber products ever dusty or slippery?
No. Regutec rubbers products are not vulcanized, but consist of a rubber granulate bound by a polyurethane adhesive. They are porous and allow for instantaneous drainage. Moreover, they also retain small amounts of moisture, which is just enough to prevent slipperiness and the accumulation of dust. Rubber surfaces are easy to maintain during the winter.
How should the surface be prepared for installation?
We recommend that the area is prepared in advance in accordance with our Installation instructions. Before laying begins the area must be cleared of all dirt (for example sand, stones and other waste) that might have an unfavorable influence on the adhesion of rubber tiles to the subsurface.
What type of maintenance do recycled rubber surfaces require?
Sweeping and occasional cleaning with a stream of water should suffice. A cleaning machine and an ordinary unconcentrated cleaning agent may also be used.
Do rubber surfaces pose a danger to the health?
No. Our products pose no danger to the health, which is proven by the Statement from the Chief Medical Officer of the Czech Republic.
Do rubber products smell?
You may notice an odor at the time of installation, but this will soon disappear.
How do rubber surfaces compare with other surfaces?
Initially rubber products may cost a little more than some traditional materials, but only surfaces made of rubber granulates retain their properties over the long term and have a long product life. Thanks to their low maintenance costs they work out more economically long-term. You can find a comparison of outdoor children?s playground surfaces here.
What kind of subsurface is suitable for rubber products?
The range of surface products we provide can be installed on compact sand, gravel, concrete, and asphalt with the proper drainage, depending on the thickness of the subsurface. Experience has shown that a concrete subsurface is the best. For more information, please click the Installation guide icon at the bottom of each product page.
Does a rubber surface really allow water to drain off?
REGUTEC rubber products have a porous structure allowing water to pass through to the subsoil or to run down to the nearest drain, which allows almost immediate usage of the surface after its rains, as no puddles will form.
Can we use rubber products around swimming pools to prevent slips and falls?
Certainly! All our products are non-slip. For specific information, please click the "Datasheets" icon at the bottom of each product page.
Are rubber products good for stable mats?
Yes, since they are flexible they reduce the amount of stress on your horse's legs and muscles, while providing excellent anti-slip and insulation properties. They also serve as a thermal insulation layer. The use of rubber products reduces the amount of bedding required. We can supply porous and non-porous surfaces, wall paneling and other suitable materials to meet you wishes.
